Free Rig: Dee V1.4
I have finally created a rig that is available to all animators. It took about 2 months of trial and error, but at this point I'm happy with the results and I just can't wait until I see some animations using this Rig. I hope you all like it. Also if you have any comments don’t be afraid to send me an E-mail.
Dee is a character I created purposely to be animation friendly. This characters thin body allows for more exaggerated body language, posing, and also avoiding early crushing of the skin. There is a wide rage of squash and stretch all through out this characters body. Ik/Fk switching for arms and legs. Face Rig with a UI, the face is also driven by morph targets to correct and provide better solutions.
Danny Garnett, Craig Cesareo and myself produced a short to enter the HP, Saytek and the Art Institutes National Student Animation Competition 2007. "Trick or Treat Ninja" was the first project in which I felt like part of a production team. Each one of us had different talents and contributed to different aspects of the short.
I had the pleasure to work on all the Character Rigging and also modeled the "Pumpkin Head Kid". The Ninja was modeled by all of us, he was the main Character and we were all really excited to work on him. When it came time to rigging, I was constantly in contact with Danny (the animator) so I could give him the most intuitive rigg he wanted, and in the end I think he was happy with the end result.
I want to thank both teammates for including me in this wonderful experience
